Terms and Conditions

In order to use the internet services we provide at low or no cost. We require you agree to these terms and conditions.

For the purposes of this agreement, "We" and "Us" means the Community Software Lab, the Lowell Telecommunications Corporation, the employees, volunteers and directors of this organization. "You" means the person(s) accepting this agreement and any organization(s) you represent.

  1. We may, at our sole discretion, change the terms of this agreement with 30 days email notification to the email address we provide you.
  2. In the event you do not agree to a change, You may terminate this agreement as set forth in this agreement.
  3. We work hard to provide reliable, secure and private services. However, we make no warranties or guarantees of any kind. Your website and email could down for days, your private data could accidentally be disclosed to third parties, damaged or lost forever. You agree not to hold us liable for any damage occurring to you as a result of using our service.
  4. You agree that all facilities are to be used solely for non-profit and non-commercial purposes.
  5. You agree to accept full liability for damages done to third parties through your use of our services.
  6. You agree to avoid all forms of network abuse including but not limited to SPAM, cracking, password sniffing, pornography and warez.
  7. You agree that we have the final word as to what constitutes network abuse.
  8. You agree to take all steps needed to protect our systems and third parties from attack or system failure. For example, you are required not to disclose your password with a third party.
  9. You agree to use our services without breaking any Lowell, Massachusetts and Federal laws. These laws include, but are not limited to, copyright, pornography, and computer security.
  10. You agree to take all steps needed to prevent our systems from being used to violate the laws in the city of Lowell MA, the state of MA and the USA. For example, if you use our mailing list software, you are required to keep subscribers to the list from posting material in violation of copyright laws.
  11. You agree to keep us provided with a working contact phone# and email address for as long as you are using our services. You agree to associate the email address with relivant services. For example, you agree to put a working email address on any websites you create in a prominent location.
  12. You agree to accept any resource limits including but not limited to disc, CPU, memory, network bandwidth and tech support that we may impose.
  13. You agree that resource limits are not subject to the notification requirement of this agreement
  14. You agree that we may take such measures as we judge needed to enforce this agreement. Such measures may include but are not limited to examining your data and disclosing it to third parties.
  15. You agree to allow us to archive or remove any data of yours that we judge to be unused. For example (and example only), If you haven't updated your website in a year and you aren't getting many hits, we may burn your site to cd, give you the cd and remove your website.
  16. You agree it is your responsibility to ask us if any use of our services may violate this agreement. Our failure to respond in a timely manner will never mean acceptance of a proposed use of our service.
  17. We may warn you of a violation of this agreement and give you a chance to fix the problem or we may end your service without notice.
  18. You may end this agreement at any time for any reason, by removing your data from our systems and notifying us.
  19. We may end this agreement at any time for any reason, by notifying you and removing your access to our servers.
  20. To help law enforcement officials or to help our investigation and remedy of violations of this agreement, we reserve the right to archive your data in a manner consistent with your rights under copyright and other laws.
